The influenza virus family is commonly known due to the numerous annual epidemics caused by its members. Every year, nearly one billion new cases of flu infections emerge, resulting almost 500,000 deaths, significantly impacting global economics and human well-being. Among these cases, influenza type A and B viruses are the main contributors, with roughly equal levels of infectiousness and severity of consequences (1). To select the appropriate treatments and control the spread of these infectious agents, precise diagnostic tools are essential.
We are delighted to announce the launch of HyTest’s latest monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) targeting the nucleoprotein (NP) of influenza B virus, Cat. # 3IF18. The newly introduced MAbs, namely IB44, IB57, IB70, IB71, IB76, IB87, IB91 are derived from a diverse group of animals, including mouse, rat, sheep, and rabbit. All the MAbs, except those derived from mouse, have been transferred into the recombinant format with human IgG constant domains. The diversity of animal sources for immunization enables a broader range of options for your application platforms and meets various testing needs.
These MAbs are particularly suitable for lateral flow (LF) assays, demonstrating sensitivity against the recombinant influenza B NP antigen below 0.5 ng/ml. They are also compatible with chemiluminescence immunoassay (CLIA) and enzyme immunoassay (EIA). Compared to our previous influenza B MAbs, the newly developed MAbs cover a wider range of influenza virus type B strains and show no cross-reactivity with influenza A NP. With the addition of these new mabs, we aim to provide an optimized solution for your needs in rapid and accurate assay development. For more information, please contact our Sales Team.
