New Antibodies: Anti-Caliciviridae (norovirus)

Published: 30.01.2017

Noroviruses are highly contagious viruses that cause acute gastroenteritis and the source of infection is often contaminated food or water. Norovirus infections spread quickly and outbreaks affecting hundreds of people are common.

We have developed new monoclonal antibodies that detect a number of different viruses belonging to the Caliciviridae family. Our approach was to obtain antibodies that detect the most common epitopes of different caliciviruses. All of our anti-Caliciviridae (norovirus) antibodies detect the human norovirus, the feline calicivirus and the rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus.
