New Recombinant Anti-Insulin Antibodies

11.04.2024

Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas, essential for regulating blood glucose levels. It is a 51-residue peptide hormone with a molecular weight of 5808 Da. Monitoring insulin levels through blood tests aids in investigating hypoglycemia causes, evaluating insulin resistance, and guiding treatment for type 1 and type 2 diabetes, as well as for insulinomas—a type of pancreatic tumor that secretes excessive insulin.

Hytest is pleased to announce the addition of recombinant monoclonal antibodies RC3A6 and RC8E2 (Cat. # 2I1) to our Insulin product portfolio. These chimeric antibodies are designed to replace our original in vivo monoclonal antibodies, offering improved consistency and performance.

We recommend using these two antibodies as a pair. RC3A6 is intended for use as the capture antibody, while RC8E2 serves as the detection antibody. Together, they facilitate reliable and sensitive insulin detection in assay development.
